Excerpt from an article by Dr. Stefan Lüddemann, Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung, 14.10.2022, on the exhibition "Kunstpreis Osnabrück 2022":

Projekt "WorldLeader/ WeltLenker- Portraits" (2021, 2022)

Supported by project funding from the State of Lower Saxony.

In my series “World Leader Portraits”, I create large-scale portraits of children and teenagers who later became internationally known heads of state.

The individual portraits are not primarily about the persons themselves, but about their exemplary character.

With these works, I invite viewers — as I invite myself — to reflect on time, future and the course of human lives. I use the portraits to reflect on my own life — the past, the present and possible futures — and hope that the works may open similar perspectives for others.
